About Us

Compassion Roads Inc is a non-profit organization founded in 2009, in New York by Marie Fortune.
Under her leadership, the organization has been able to identify and to deal with some of the very pressing health issues facing the children and adults of Maniche.  Most of these stem from poor nutrition and from use of contaminated water from the Opaque River, the only source of water for the entire village.   And so, for the past thirteen years our focus has been Nutrition, Health-care, and Education.
We have added an outreach program to impoverished areas of the Dominican Republic as well.
There are many people in these areas  - men, and women who are advanced in age, many young people, and very many boys and girls.
They are the people of the BATEYES.  Each village is called a BATEY

Also we have made ourselves available to be the church for those who are shut-in in Nursing Homes in the New York area, as well as in Florida.

Please keep us in your prayers as we endeavor to do our Lord's work here on earth.

We thank you for your support through your prayers, and your donations.

What We Do

Projects we are focusing on

Providing Clean Drinking Water

After Hurricane Matthew hit Haiti in October of 2016, the task fell on Compassion Roads to provide
temporary housing for some fifty families. We have been able to partner with Water For Life, so that now there is a source of safe drinking water.

Meal Provision

Compassion Roads Inc has identified some forty of the most vulnerable families.
These receive a weekly food basket.

Partnering With a Prominant NGO

Education

Partnering with MENFP to provide education and job training to the youths in the community.

After the devastating Earth Quake which rocked Haiti in 2021, Compassion Roads joined forces with an NGO to provide daily meals, and to engage the children in learning experiences.

      Mission  in Haiti

COMPASSION ROADS INC continues to maintain a functioning mission in Maniche, Haiti.

Together with the physical needs of the people in the village, we are providing for their spiritual needs as well, during this turbulent period.

Our Pastor and his volunteers are facing dangers at every turn, especially in the area of travelling which has become increasingly hazardous and costly.  But, we are there.  And we WILL BE THERE.

MINISTERING IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

A critical aspect of COMPASSION ROADS MINISTRIES is our outreach into areas where the needs are greatest.  As a consequence, we are partnering with individuals and other like-minded groups in pursuit of this goal. Establishing a permanent ministry rather than a visiting ministry in the Dominican Republic (the DR) was realized when IGLESIA COMPASSION ROADS INC came into being in 2023.  This was the result of our partnership with a group of sincere, hardworking, dedicated men and women most of whom live in the BATEYS, and all of whom brave the hardships of BATEY life to serve the people of the Bateys.

This partnership provides transportation from the various BATEYS in the area to the church location, and meals for the participants together with the other services that are needed.

WHERE TO FIND GOD

You can find Him in His Kingdom.

Luke 6 : 20  And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed [be ye] poor: FOR YOURS IS THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

Luke 18 :  16   But Jesus called them [unto him], and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: FOR OF SUCH IS THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

James 2  :  5.   Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath NOT GOD CHOSEN THE POOR OF THIS WORLD RICH IN FAITH, AND HEIRS OF THE KINGDOM which he hath promised to them that love him?

Matthew 25: 34 to 45 .  Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:  35)  For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:    35)   Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.  37)  Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed [thee]? or thirsty, and gave [thee] drink?  38)  When saw we thee a stranger, and took [thee] in? or naked, and clothed [thee]?    39)  Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?   40)  And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done [it] UNTO ONE OF THE LEAST OF THESE MY BRETHREN, ye have done [it] unto me.   41)  Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:   42)   For I was an hungered, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:    43)   I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.  44)  Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?  45)  Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did [it] NOT to one of the least of these, YE DID [IT] NOT TO ME.
